The year 2018 was the one where the so-called infinite screen arrived for all smartphone segments. From the beginning of the range to the core products, virtually every model released this year has an 18: 9 display or variant, further improving the first number.
Samsung has also incorporated this new trend into its most basic smartphones. And the first "baratinho" to receive this screen with this new proportion is the Galaxy J6, successor to the J5 Pro. We tested the device, and our conclusion is that there are advances and failures compared to the model from last year
. by setbacks. The main one is the finish, which replaced the metal body with a plastic body. The good side is that the construction is of good quality and that the material is of good quality. The sound also seems smothered and weaker than the J5 Pro.
There are also points where there has been no change. The hardware is the same, with the eternal Exynos 7870, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, in this model we tested. There is an option with more memory, at least. The screen resolution follows at 720p, now stretched and called HD +. And it has room for two operator chips and a micro SD. The battery was also unchanged at 3000 mAh.
But there is progress. The screen adopts the new Samsung standard with a ratio of 18.9: 9 and now in the diagonal size of 5.6 inches. The autonomy has improved, as incredible as it may seem, and this device has reached 20 hours of battery test. But that's all.
This most basic model of the Galaxy J6 arrived in Brazil for $ 1,300. Like virtually every smartphone launched here this year, the launch price of the phone is very high. But nowadays, you can already find it for around R $ 700, which is already fairer.
The advantages here are the quality of the screen, the autonomy and the quality of the construction. Among the weaknesses, the sound is bad and the camera leaves something to be desired, even if it is not the center of the camera.
