The July Green Campaign, in reference to World Head and Neck Cancer Day, began on July 27 to mobilize hospitals, health centers, professionals and health facilities in Santarém, west of Pará. the whole month will take place several mobilizations around the world to warn of the problem. The green color represents health and the Brazilian Society of Head and Neck Surgery.
According to INCA estimates, head and neck cancer, which includes cancer of the mouth, larynx and other localizations in this region, is now second in men in Brazil.
Green July's proposal is to disseminate information on the prevention and early detection of cancers affecting the head and neck regions, both for the public and for primary care professionals.
In Santarém, on the 25th, there will be a workshop in a higher education institution. On day 26, there will be free shares at Orla de Santarém, near Fisherman's Square, starting at 6 pm. On the 27th day, there will be testing and counseling actions at HRBA.
On Thursday (6), the Baixo Amazonas Regional Hospital (HRBA) hosted the first technical meeting with professionals from the region, specialists and students academics to present information and exchange experiences on the subject.
