The Lacen (central laboratory of Mato Grosso do Sul) confirmed the first dengue-related death in Mato Grosso do Sul this year. According to SES (Secretary of State for Health ), the viral disease transmitted by the mosquito Aedes Aegypti was the cause of the 13-year-old Gabriel Roseno Baltazar Neres, located in Três Lagoas, at 338 km from Campo Grande.

Another Case – Another 14-year-old boy was admitted to the Auxiliadora hospital with a suspicion of dengue fever. At JP News, the boy's mother, Rosimeire de Oliveira, said her son was sick on Dec. 3 and had been taken to the UPA (Community Emergency Care Unit). At the scene, the doctor reported that the boy had platelets and was released.

Two days later, the boy had a fever and was bleeding in his mouth. The mother was running the Samu (emergency mobile service) which was driving the boy back to the UPA. This time, the boy was diagnosed with dengue and was transferred to the Auxiliadora hospital, where he remains hospitalized.
