Health Department Confirms Three More H1N1 Deaths in Bauru

The Department of Municipal Health, through the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed 6 new positive cases of H1N1, of which 3 were in the late afternoon of Monday (2). All patients had fever, shortness of breath, cough, and body pain.

Three patients are residents of the northern region and three of the southeastern region of Bauru. The city has up to 17 positive cases of influenza, 15 of H1N1 with 6 deaths and 2 cases of H3N2 positive.

One of the patients is a 59-year-old woman belonging to the at-risk group (chronic lung disease, lung neoplasia and diabetes) and died on 24/6/2018 in a private hospital

The Health Secretariat reports that the vaccination coverage rate is 82%, but it is still low than expected, especially in groups of children with 66.5% and pregnant women with 62, 5%.
