The Municipal Health Department of Bauru informed that until Wednesday (6), three deaths of suspected dengue patients were recorded. Two of the cases belonged to the private network.

Confirmatory dengue tests were referred to the public health reference laboratory, the Adolfo Lutz Institute, in São Paulo, and await the results for confirmation or filing of the file.

The Municipal Health Department of Bauru stresses the importance of careful medical evaluation, as well as the performance of the risk clbadification, for proper care of patients.

Also requests the cooperation of all in the weekly maintenance and inspection of their properties, particularly with regard to the prevention of the presence of breeding sites of Aedes aegypti.

Bauru adds 1,137 cases of dengue fever this year. In 2019 alone, 1,136 Aboriginal cases were contracted in the municipality and 1 imported case.

To get an idea, Bauru had 241 people with dengue fever in the past year.

There is already a vaccine against dengue produced by a private laboratory, but it does not reach a vaccination percentage complete some serotypes of the disease.

BACKGROUND

The first major epidemic in the city dates back to 2007, followed by 2011, when the municipality recorded the first occurrence of death due to the disease, when six people died .

Research conducted by the Department of Health, which badyzed the dengue situation from 2000 to 2018, shows that the increase in the number of cases occurs during cyclical periods and odd years.

In 2013, the municipality submitted 7,434 cases and two deaths. In 2015, there were 8,482 occurrences and six deaths. In 2016, the number of deaths was lower.

NEBULIZATION

The Town Hall and Sucen decide to extend the nebulization zone against the mosquito Aedes aegypti, after evaluation by the technicians

The 8, 15, 22/2 and 1/3 February, from 20:00, the nebulization will be carried out in the districts of Nova Esperança and Edson Francisco da Silva

. for the purpose of controlling adult mosquitoes in an area with a high concentration of cases.

Bauru alone accounts for 1,137 cases of dengue fever this year. The Health Secretariat requests the cooperation of the population during the work so that:

• Keep open: doors, windows and curtains to facilitate the entry of insecticide into the home;

• Keep cutlery: food, water filters, utensils

• Keep children, the elderly and allergy sufferers in a room with doors and windows closed, remaining for 30 years.

• Keep inside: water troughs, bird cages and aquariums; minutes after application

• During the application of the insecticide, stay inside your home.

• The insecticide kills only the adult mosquito that is inside and outside the house at the time of application, so it is essential that the population participates in the elimination of breeding grounds.

PREVENTION

The Secretariat reinforces the need for effective collaboration of the population through preventive actions to combat Aedes aegypti, such as:

• Avoid flowerpots with plastic plates

• Keep inside and outside comforters and toilets

• Keep pools clean, covered or disbadembled when possible.

• Eliminate all unusable material with reproductive potential for Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae (bottles, cans, empty containers, tires, etc.)

• Continue cleaning the gutters before leaving your home for several days

• Hold someone responsible for the exchange and cleaning of water cans for animals and so on.

• Maintain the cleanliness of vacant lots, as it must be considered that even a discarded bottle cap deliberately becomes fertile ground for the larvae.
