From Saturday (23.6) until noon yesterday (25.6), the Health Caravan has already carried out more than 18 thousand procedures, ie 8000 consultations and more than 10 000 exams. Only in ophthalmology – a specialty that has the highest demand for patients – more than 1,700 consultations were performed on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, and 7,733 procedures (examinations, consultations and surgeries). For Monday, the wait was to perform nearly a thousand ophthalmic surgeries, in addition to the 200 already performed on Sunday.

Two years ago, the cataract victim, Adelson Cabral da Silva, 50, saw her life change suddenly. In addition to the difficulty in simpler everyday tasks, he had to stop working. The one that was read on the ground, in a Pantbad farm, was left out. The disease was fast. First, the left eye was compromised. Months later, his right eye and, quickly, lumps and flashes were his only views since. "I stopped working, I did not have any more, and today I only see very fuzzy figures and a little light, I can not wait for surgery," she said. he said while waiting for the procedure.

And it's in the Caravan of Health, Monday morning, that he's seen again. The rapid three-minute surgery gave Adelson the right eye. When he left the cart, where the procedure unfolded, his smile showed the satisfaction of seeing again. "This caravan is a blessing, Wow, I want to see so much," he said. In a few days, he can perform surgery on the left eye, where the cataract has begun. This is the procedure adopted by the Caravan. "He stopped working, I do everything in the house, it bothers me a lot, if we had the financial conditions, we would have done it in the private sector, but we have not got it. The caravan is a real blessing, "said his wife, Ramona da Silva Machado de Oliveira. The Health Caravan should carry out 32,000 consultations of various specialties (gynecologist, cardiologist, neurologist, dermatologist, urologist, gastroenterologist, mastologist, vascular and pulmonologist), as well as more than 18,000 surgeries (general, vascular ophthalmology, gynecology, otorrino, orthopedics and urology).

The state government's action continues until July 6 in Ayrton Senna Park, Campo Grande. In the badembled structure, the simplest surgical procedures (vitrectomy, cataract, laser pterygium and yag) and vascular (two techniques used to remove varicose veins – conventional and sclerosing / foam) are performed. The rest of the surgeries will be performed in a hospital environment.

After July 6, the Caravan continues in hospitals: the Santa Casa de Campo Grande, the Cândido Mariano maternity hospital, the São Julião hospital and the regional hospital. The municipalities of Costa Rica and Maracaju also participate. There, only general, gynecological, otorrino, urological, vascular (Maracaju) and orthopedic surgeries will be performed (Costa Rica).

Lab tests, mammography, bad ultrasound, badl smears and oral biopsy can also be performed in the Caravan, as well as various social services such as stable union recognition, digital CNH, etc.
