The causes of the fire are not yet known determined.
Accidental fires are common in India, particularly in Mumbai, the country's economic capital, due to very loose regulations and inadequate safety standards.
In December 2017, 14 people died as a result of a major fire that completely devastated a restaurant in the city.
In early December, a fire also destroyed a confectionery store in Mumbai, causing the collapse of a building and the death of 12 people sleeping in it.
