Even with a busy schedule, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a break to enjoy Saturday (29) on the sandy beaches of Copacabana and Leme. He left around 13 hours from the hotel where he resides in Copacabana, with a reinforced security system, and went to the beach, where he played football with swimmers.
Netanyahu also went to the stone of Leme. The Prime Minister's security guards attempted to close access to the Leme stone with a security booth at a kiosk, but the kiosk owner did not allow it and had a principle of confusion. The people who went through the site also complained that the place was public and that they would not accept that security guards forbid them access.
After the tour, Netanyahu stopped with his wife in a kiosk, where he took beer, ate potato chips, chicken skewers and a caprese salad.
First visit to Brazil
The Israeli Prime Minister landed in the capital, Rio de Janeiro, at 11:16 pm Friday (28). He was received by authorities such as the mayor of Rio, Marcelo Crivella. Netanyahu left Galeão airport by a side gate. This is the first official visit of an Israeli Prime Minister to Brazil.
On Friday afternoon (28), President-elect Jair Bolsonaro and the Israeli Prime Minister met at the Copacabana Fort in the southern area of Rio.
The two rulers reaffirmed their intention to strengthen the links between countries and to create partnerships in different sectors. Bolsonaro has announced his intention to visit a delegation in Israel in March. It intends to negotiate technology cooperation agreements in the fields of agriculture, security, the army, fishing, among others.
On Friday again, Netanyahu was in a synagogue in Copacabana, in the southern area of Rio, accompanied by Bolsonaro, for a meeting with the Jewish community. At that time, the two were called "brother" and said that they would strengthen ties between Brazil and Israel.
