Leblon kidnapped by lightning

RIO – Civilian police arrested five suspects on Friday morning
gang responsible for kidnappings by lightning in the Leblon region
. The criminals were arrested at two different addresses. In one of them, Carvalho de Mendonça Street, in Copacabana, the headquarters of the group was operational. They seized a large quantity of jewelery and watches, as well as 50 ammunition for pistol 9 millimeters, 30 lollipops, 26 packages of cocaine ready for sale, five cell phones, 2 kg of marijuana and two scales, among other objects.

According to the holder of the 14th DP (Leblon), delegate Antenor Lopes, the gang was responsible for the abduction of two victims at Rua Dias Ferreira, in Leblon, last week. The leader of the platoon, Jorge Luiz Cardoso dos Santos, known as "Playboy", was arrested in Del Castilho during the same operation. Jorge served a semi-open diet with the use of an electronic bracelet at the ankle and would remove the equipment on Saturday. Against him, there are 13 criminal acts, four convictions for robbery, extortion (kidnapping by lightning) and drug trafficking.

– Jorge is an experienced criminal. He carried his weapon during the kidnappings and climbed into the victims' apartments. It was cold, it even gave a "good night to the wearer". A well articulated student, who even studied at Colégio Pedro II, went to study until the third period of pharmacy at the university and owned a pharmacy that he inherited from his father – said the delegate.

The other criminals arrested by the police are Udismar Mesquita Martins, Wellington Rastelli Sena, Jonaci Mesquita Martins and Paulo Henrique Feitosa de Souza.

Dr. Allan Turnowsky, Director General of the Capital Police, participated in the collective held at the 14th DP meeting held this morning and paid tribute to the outcome of the operation which resulted in the arrest of the gang.

– That's what we are looking for in a police team. We know the difficulties of efficiency, facilities, but the police is vocation. This is the example we want to follow internally and that is what we want to guarantee to society. From now on, the civilian police will have policemen who have a vocation that has the police in their blood – said Turnowsky, taking this opportunity to thank the 12th DP (Copacabana), the 6th DP (Cidade Nova) and the Core Police of the 14th DP.

– It is with this integration that we are looking for our results. Anyone who is not a police officer will not get the results that will be charged – completed.

A video shows an abduction

One of the cases occurred at dawn last Friday, in front of Boteco do Belmonte, in Rua Dias Ferreira. The case was spotted by neighborhood security cameras. In the video, you can see a man waiting on the other side of the sidewalk as a girl gets into your car. He runs and goes to the victim. Then another man gets into the car.

The victim even published the kidnapping on his social network, saying that the kidnappers had forced her to open her house to be badaulted. She warned residents to avoid walking down the street at night.

In addition to the young woman, another woman was abducted in the same street around 8:30 pm last Wednesday, in front of the Celeiro restaurant. The head of security at a private company said that this type of crime was not common in the neighborhood:

– I have been working here for ten years and I have never heard of kidnapping. What is common is the theft of cell phones and Rolex watches – he said.
