Manaus decrees the emergency situation due to the measles epidemic | Amazonas

Of the total confirmed cases in the capital of Amazonas, 108 were recorded in the North Zone. The East (67), South (59), West (35) and Rural (2) zones also have confirmation of the disease.

Semsa reported that 1,841 suspected cases are under investigation. The northern zone also has the largest number, with 672 cases. The East (316), South (272), West (268) and Rural (16) areas have cases in the calculation.

The concentration of cases of the disease in the capital caused the anticipation of the campaign against measles, scheduled for August.

Only between January and June, more than 487,400 doses of the triple viral vaccine were sent to the Amazon. As of June 18, vaccination coverage in the Amazon reached 155,510 children, or 81.2% of the target population, or 191,585 people.
