The standard registration plates of Mercosul vehicles will now be valid in December, announced Friday (30) the National Traffic Council (Contran). The State Traffic Department of Espírito Santo (Detran-ES) announced that the beginning of the new standard is scheduled for December 10 in that state.
Detran said that "there will be no price fixing by the state because the competition will determine the price of the service".
The new standard is to be adopted only for the first registration plate and, for those who possess the old registration plate, in case of change of municipality or property.

This is the fourth change in the timetable for the adoption of the Mercosul plaque in Brazil. The standard is already used in Argentina and Uruguay.
