The head of the Institutional Security Bureau, Augusto Heleno, said Saturday that the federal government would inspect all the country's dams "as soon as possible".
Heleno gave a press conference in Brasilia after the meeting of the crisis cabinet set up by President Jair Bolsonaro to adopt measures relating to the tragedy caused by the rupture of the Córrego do Feijão mine dam in Brumadinho, in metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte.

Also present at the press conference, Union Attorney General André Mendonça stated that the responsibility for the accident at the dam was Vale, the company that owns the project.
He said that it was necessary to wait for the investigation into the causes of the accident to verify "the extent of this damage and the way in which the measures of responsibility will be adopted ".
