One of the main goals of the action is to show the importance of early diagnosis because hepatitis is a silent disease and can last for years without manifesting itself.

Viral hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver caused by five different types of viruses: A, B, C, D, and E. Hepatitis B, C, and D are transmitted by contaminated blood, bad without a condom, and the mother infected the child at the time of delivery. Hepatitis B and C are considered the most serious because they can progress to cirrhosis or liver cancer. Hepatitis D only occurs in people already infected with the hepatitis B virus.

The program of the day is followed by HIV training at Casa Dia, from 16 hours and days 4 and 5 from 10 am to 22 hours. at the Groão Grão Mall and on the 10th, from 8.00 to 12.00, at the Municipal Sanitary Unit of Marambaia.

In addition to Casa Dia and CTA, the 29 municipal health units and 43 units of the Family Health Strategy (FSE) already offer rapid tests and will also intensify services during this month.

In 2017, 202 cases of hepatitis were registered in Belém and patients were referred to Casa Dia to close the diagnosis and enter treatment.
