The eighth final will be played in the best of three and only one team will fall in the Gold League

The National League of Basketball (LNB) announced Saturday the news of the season NBB 2018/2019. At the General Assembly of the entity, the 15 pre-registered clubs have been set for the tournament which will start on October 13th. Along with the remaining 13 BNBs, there are also Corinthians, who won the place with the title of the Gold League, and São José, vice president of the Gold League, who have intended to participate approved by the Board of Directors.

Now, for their entries to be confirmed, the teams will have to prove all the documentation required by the LNB for the 11th edition competition. From now on July 13th, the clubs will have to provide the financial and structural proofs so that the technical department of the LNB can evaluate the conditions of each team. The participants will be announced on the 24th.

Already in relation to the rules, the clubs have approved the changes. The bottom line is that the first phase of the playoffs (round of 16) will be played in the best of the three games – the other stages (quarter, half and finals) follow the best of the five. The change is aimed at reducing downtime for the G-4 teams, who are going straight to the quarter-finals.

Another NBB change to next season will be relegated. Instead of two teams, only one will fall to the Gold League, which will continue to take its champion to the national basketball elite.

Throughout the Assembly, the clubs also unanimously approved the accounts for the 2017/2018 season and the financial statement for 2017.
