A Netflix can launch a new subscription plan that would cost more to its fans. According to the information of the Italian blog Tutto Android the streaming company is preparing to inaugurate a new package dubbed Ultra. It would allow simultaneous access to four devices and Ultra HD video streaming.
The platform currently offers three subscription plans. In Brazil, Basic costs R $ 19.90 per month, Standard R $ 27.90 and Premium R $ 37.90. The first gives access to one screen only, since the standard allows two simultaneous screens and the third extends the possibility to four screens.
In a press release, a company spokesman said that Netflix continually tests new things and that these tests have a variable duration. In the case of a new plan, the company claims to test different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix. This means that Netflix can not launch an "ultra" plan for all its markets.
The Ultra plan can affect some aspects of the current premium plan, suggests the PhoneArena portal. Some Italian users say that Netflix promotional material indicates that the new plan would reduce by half the number of premium user screens that can be used simultaneously from four to two. Similarly, the Standard Plan could be demoted to a single screen.
Ultra would cost € 16.99 in Italy to your subscriber's credit card. A value that, if launched in Brazil, could reach R $ 60.
