Nothing stops the wave of SUVs, and that is why Nissan is presenting an updated Murano at the Los Angeles Auto Show. If you think the Murano has been updated recently, you are mistaken. Nissan made interior modifications to the 2018 model, which included a revised center console. Now, it is the turn of the outside to attract attention and, although the improvements do not rewrite the history of Murano in general, the facelift of the sport utility vehicle is consistent with the design philosophy developed by Nissan.
The most noticeable change is for the grille, which receives a V-shaped update. It is flanked by redesigned LED headlights, new LED fog lights and rear lights, also with redesigned LEDs. The 2019 Murano will also work with new 18 "or 20" wheel options and offers three new exterior paint options with highly artistic names. The mocha almond pearl looks interesting, as is the blue bead, but the Chromaflair Sunset Drift is considered the coolest color of the year.
There is little change in the interior of the Murano – it was only updated in general – but Nissan offers some improvements to the existing kit. These include elegant leather options with contrasting finishes that can also be applied to the door panels and center console cover on Platinum models. The combination of three exterior colors gives three new shades of the cabin: your dark wood, your light wood and metal. On the technical side, all 2019 Muranos receive rear door alert and smart driver alert from the builder.
All the rest, as usual, the famous Murano. That means a 3.5-liter V6 with 260 horsepower, connected to a CVT gearbox that drops power on the front axle or on all four wheels. You benefit from a comfortable range of standard items like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as the complete Nissan Safety Shield 360 Alert and Support Kit, also standard.
And in Brazil?
The Nissan Murano is a model that exceeds the objectives of Brazil. When Motor1.com questioned brand managers about the possibility, the answer was evasive, the attitude has always been applied to not exclude this possibility. As can be seen from the pictures, the Murano is a bigger SUV than the X-Trail and would have a high price here. A possible import would be related to the volume of sales and its sustainability here in the long term. The brand does not want to bring any more, and after a while, it is forced to stop marketing because of factors such as the change in the dollar or changes in taxation.
