WASHINGTON, June 30 (ANSA) – US intelligence services said North Korea is furtively enriching uranium to produce nuclear weapons.
The information, however, contradicts what US President Donaldo Trump himself said after the historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on June 12.
At that time, the Republican ensured that the Pyongyang nuclear program "no longer constitutes a threat".
The news was given by the NBC network, which quotes "dozens of sources from the CIA and other secret services, who requested anonymity". According to sources, Kim is trying to get as many concessions as possible from the United States, while continuing to secretly develop its nuclear program, which he considers to be strategic for the survival of the North Korean regime.
Up to now, the White House has not commented on NBC's complaint.
