NVIDIA launched a "Recommended Rotator" program, a partnership between NVIDIA and router manufacturers. The goal is to make sure that users have devices that make network optimization easier when they are used with the GeForce Now service.
Geforce Now is NVIDIA's cloud gaming platform. With this solution, Windows users and Mac users will have access to today's most popular games without the need for a super-powerful machine, wasting time installing games and updates, and GPU drivers. In this type of service, even if a very fast connection is used, the user experience will be impaired if the latency is high.
That is why NVIDIA is promoting the recommended router program, in which manufacturers will deploy devices with optimized hardware and software, bringing special connection profiles to GeForce Now, making device configuration much more simple and more practical. This will be very useful on unstable connections or when several people use the Internet simultaneously, because it will be possible to prioritize the connection used to play.
Currently, we only have one GeForce Now. Amplifi HD Gamer's Edition, from Ubiquiti. Other companies should release firmware updates and dedicated applications for published models before the program begins.
For now, the GeForce Now project is in beta. We do not know when NVIDIA will actually launch it, nor how much it will cost to subscribe.
