The inhabitants of the Brumadinho area were woken early on Sunday morning (27) by sirens alerting the population of the risk of dam failure 6 being monitored.
According to the fire department, there is a risk of rupture of the structure. The company reported that the siren sounded around 5:30 pm when residents were warned to leave their homes and seek a higher place in the community itself. By a note, Vale reiterates the activation of sirens in the region of Córrego do Feijão, in Brumadinho, by detecting an increase in water levels in the dam's monitoring instruments. "The authorities have been warned and, as a precautionary measure, the population of the region is resettled at the rendezvous points previously determined by the Emergency Plan and Vale will continue to monitor the situation together with the Civil Defense." says the statement.
