ONS predicts a higher load on the power grid in July; sees below-average rainfall

The National Electric System Operator (ONS) forecasts a 3.5% increase in the load of the national power system in July compared to the same month of 2017, according to a bulletin released Friday.

Meanwhile, the ONS estimates that rainfall in hydroelectric reservoirs, the country's main energy source, will be below the historical average next month.

For hydroelectric dams in the southeast, rainfall is forecast at 76 per cent of the historical average. In the northeast, precipitation is expected to average 38%
