The secretary of the Civil House of the City of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Messina (PRB), one of the leaders of the government, Marcelo Crivella, resigned from his post Wednesday afternoon (4).
The motivation was the incessant attacks that the politician had suffered from the municipal secretary of education, Cesar Benjamin, according to the Civil House. The decision of Messina goes against "peace agreement" signed by both at the request of the mayor after the exchange of offenses in social networks.
The Civil House also said that Paulo Messina personally requested the exoneration of the post to resume the vacancy as a city councilman in the city council that Crivella asked Messina to reconsider the decision. Messina has not yet responded to the mayor whether he will consider the decision or not.
Disagreements Between Secretaries
The disagreement between the Secretary of the Civil House, Paulo Messina, and the Municipal Secretary of Education, Cesar Benjamin became public after the two exchange beards for social networks in May this year.
At the time, Benjamin put the position at his disposal and accused Messina of "methodically undermining the conditions of governance of the secretariat". At another time, he called the head of Crivella's government "intelligent and hospitable Napoleon."
A month later, Messina left his post to return to the city council to discuss projects on the adjustment of municipal welfare to federal standards, but returned a few hours later .
