The Peruvian authorities and Odebrecht signed on Saturday (8) a collaboration agreement that will allow the construction company to provide information during investigations on corruption cases conducted by the prosecution of Peru, local media reported.
The website of the newspaper "El Comercio" specified that the agreement was signed by officials of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Prosecutor's Office of Peru with representatives of the Brazilian construction company. Among its commitments was the provision of information regarding the payment of bribes to officials.
The newspaper specified that the lawyer Jorge Ramirez was the last to sign the agreement, which had already been accepted by the promoter, Rafael Vela, coordinator of the special working group Lava Jato, and by Mauricio Cruz, representative of Odebrecht in Peru.
The agreement will allow the delivery of documents from the My Web Day and Drousys servers, used by the Odebrecht Structured Operations Department, which co-ordinated the bribing of employees and the retribution to political campaigns.
For its part, the newspaper "La República" declared that the meeting between the representatives of the parties to the negotiations had ended in the early hours of Saturday.
In addition, he indicated that as of this agreement, the prosecutor Perez will visit Brazil in the coming weeks to prolong the interrogation with the former representative of Odebrecht, Jorge Barata, on the money laundering investigations against the former president. The business paper "Gestión" added that the document of the collaboration agreement was more than 150 pages long and that the company admitted to paying bribes for the treatment of seven contracts of five jobs.
The trade publication also indicated that another essential point of the agreement was the amount of civil compensation that Odebrecht pledged to pay to the Peruvian State, of which the value is still unknown.
In Peru, the bribery scandal of Odebrecht investigates former presidents Alejandro Toledo (2001-2006), Alan Garcia (1985-1990, 2006-2011), Ollanta Humala (2011). -2016) and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (2016-2018), as well as former presidential candidate and opposition leader Keiko Fujimori, currently on remand.
