The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police arrested Vera Lúcia de Sant & Anna Gomes, found guilty of torturing a 2-year-old girl she intended to adopt (17).
On Wednesday, GloboNews located Vera in her apartment in Ipanema, in the southern area of Rio. Justice considered him a fugitive three years ago.
The prosecutor was taken by police to the police town at about 8:15, but she was ill and had to be treated at the Copa D'Or hospital.
On May 15, 2010, the Trusteeship Council received the complaint of mistreatment and withdrew the girl from Vera Lucia's apartment. The same day, she was preemptive.
On July 7 of the same year, Vera Lucia was sentenced in first instance to 8 years and 2 months of imprisonment under a closed regime. In the second instance, the Rio court reduced the sentence to 5 years and 5 months in a semi-open regime, on March 20, 2014.
A week later, the prosecutor was released after obtaining a habeas corpus of the Court supreme. Federal Court.
After exhausting all possibilities of appeal, the Rio Court of Justice ordered the arrest of Vera Lucia so that she could serve her sentence in a semi-open regime on May 13 2016. Since then, she was a fugitive.
His defense has more than once claimed his parole.
Last year's defense, the defense argued that, even though he had already served his sentence long enough in a closed regime, a new arrest warrant had been issued to purge his sentence at half-day.
The habeas corpus petition also states that the new Penitentiary Order is contrary to the Penal Code, which determines the length of the sentence on parole. The lawyer says in the document that the prison decree is "totally illegal".
However, the court dismissed the application and filed a habeas corpus.
GloboNews production contacted the defense of retired prosecutor Vera Lúcia Gomes. The lawyer said that they had nothing to report.
