Prefecture adopts measures against meningitis after the death suspected by the disease Olympia | São José do Rio Preto and Araçatuba

The municipality claims that there is no epidemic in the municipality as the cases are isolated. The clbades of the municipal network were suspended as of this Friday (7), as an immediate preventive measure.

Children's gardens will remain open if parents need them. Clbades will be reinstated next year.

Overcrowded activities were also suspended, such as the presentation of the choir with about 300 children at the official opening of the Christmas party, which was to take place on Thursday night (6).

The public network doctors and UPA callers were also informed of the alert for illness, diagnosis and prevention.

The town hall reported that all health facilities have stockpiled meningitis vaccines in stock. This year, the municipality has exceeded the target of vaccination coverage set by the Ministry of Health, which is 95%.

The concern of the city council is also due to cases recorded in other cities, such as Mirbadol, Urupes, Rio Preto, Mirandopolis, Cajobi, Votuporanga, Aracatuba and Fernandopolis.
