Nintendo's Direct at E3 was pretty much all about the "Super Smash Ultimate Bros", the new franchise game coming out this year on the Switch. With that, Pokémon fans waiting for more news on the new game of the saga, ended up being disappointed. The sadness was short-lived, however, as Nintendo Treehouse, an event shortly after Direct, spent more than 40 minutes showing and explaining the mechanics of "Let's Go Pikachu / Eevee"!
Check out our overview with everything you need to know about the upcoming Pokémon:
Home
"Pokémon Let's Go" brings back the experience of the first handheld monster games, relocating the universe of the series in the Kanto region. You'll be able to relive the entire 90-day quest in "Yellow Pokémon", capturing the first 150 creatures while traveling the world to become the best of the masters.
It has been confirmed that clbadic characters from the franchise, such as Brock and Misty, will be back in their gyms. Just like the clbadic elements of the franchise: the Pokémon League, the coaches you can face during your course and the iconic buildings of famous cities like Veridian and Pallet.
As in "Yellow Pokémon", you can take the Pikachu, or in the case of the other version Eeve, with you out of the Poké Ball. They stay on your shoulder all the way through and only leave it at the hour of battle. The cool part, however, is another. Now you can also take a Pokémon out of the Poké Ball to follow your character on foot. Depending on the size of the little monster, it will also be possible to mount it, as was speculated after the first trailer.
Character
In this adventure we will be the pokemon coach, who relies on his female and male version. We did not say what customization options we would have for the characters, but as the game was pretty inspired by the "Pokémon Go" systems, the famous version of the mobile series, we should expect several options, especially for clothes.
gameplay
The big change that the new game will bring to the series will be in the pokemon capture system. The first important change is in how to find the creatures. In the main games of the franchise, the player gets entangled in moths, sand, dark water and all that demonstrates that there are hidden monsters. After walking a little, an event is called and a pokemon seems to be confronted. In the new switch game will be different. Here, all Pokémon are visible on the map. They are in the grbad, for example, but you can see them and decide what you want to capture.
The second change occurs after the start of the fight at capture, which is more exactly a fight. According to game director Junichi Masuda, "Pokémon Go" was the gateway to a large audience in the franchise universe and he now wants to bring these people to the RPG games of the main series, which wins their next match in 2019 For this, he changed the capture system so that it is identical to the mobile game.
After finding a Pokémon, you must launch your Pokémon at the right time, and you can use other objects to make it easier to capture, without the need to weaken the wild Pokémon using your Pokémon. With this, the way to gain experience for your group has also been changed. Now, all the members of your main group gain experience by capturing a new little monster.
The battles against other coaches, however, remain the same as the old ones. You can choose one of your 6 pokémons and face the opponent, gaining experience for the little monster who fought where he wins.
This time, Kanto can also be explored by 2 players in cooperative mode. The game will require the use of a single joycon to perform all the necessary commands for a coach. For a friend to accompany you, just swing the other joycon and a character will appear on the screen. We still do not know how game rescue will work in relation to this mechanic, but since it is enough to have a pokébola to capture a pokémon, probably new companions should be able to enter the game. adventure at any time.
Two-player wrestling will work as in solo mode, but with two pokeballs played at the same time. Both will have to show their relationship in order to capture the animals. We had no more details on who will be the Pokémon after capture.
In battles, both players will also participate, each with their own Pokémon, similar to the already known double successes of the series. How they will balance all this for gymnastics fights, for example, is always a mystery.
personalization
As stated above, we have not yet confirmed the customization of the characters. When it comes to pokémons, however, we have suspicions. In the trailer, we showed clothes for the Pikachu and the Eeevee, implying that some mini-games involving the personalization of both should be present. We still do not know if this will be possible also with other pokémons.
Mobile integration and switch
There will be several integrations between "Pokémon Go" for mobile phones with the Switch game. The most important is the transfer of pokémons that you capture in the mobile version of the console. Only those from the Kanto area can be transferred, according to the top 150. Those who are transferred to the Switch are lost on the mobile, guaranteeing you a reward on sweets.
The pokémons transferred do not go directly to their group, in fact they go to a park, called "Go! Park", a place similar to the clbadic Safari of other editions. In this place, you can interact with the transferred Pokémon and capture them if you wish. According to Masuda, there will be a series of incentives to send pokémons of the same type to this park, both "Go!" And "Lets Go!" And by doing so, you can participate in a few mini-games that enrich the gaming experience.
Poké Ball Plus!
For this release, we will have a completely new control, which comes in the form of a pokebola. She's like an ordinary joycon. It has in its center an badog direction, a button in the red part at the top, which is relative to B and another button that is activated by pressing the central badogue, compared to A, the only buttons needed to play Pokemon. The development team badures that this control will bring the ultimate gaming experience and will indicate that this is not just for traditional drives.
It will also be possible to take a Pokémon with you in the new controller. Depending on the bug that is found, different sounds will be emitted when you move it. Taking pokémons to walk around guarantees an experience for little monsters.
When you capture a Pokémon with Poké Ball Plus, you will not only feel it vibrate in your hand, but you will also hear the sound of the captured Pokémon. Everyone who tested during E3 really enjoyed the experience and said that they felt nostalgic.
You can also sync the new control with your cellphone and use it to play "Pokémon Go!"
Those who buy the ball will receive the legendary Mew to put in their group.
Difference between versions
There is at first no difference between the versions otherwise the initial choice of your pokemon, which will be the Pikachu or the Eeevee. However, Nintendo has not ruled out the possibility of inserting additional Pokemon into each version to encourage the exchange between players. Any news will be communicated in the future.
monetization
There is still no indication that we will have some sort of micro-transaction in the game or some kind of additional paid content. What we have up to here, is the price of the base game and the Poké Ball Plus, in dollars, since these games have not yet been painted in the new Brazilian Nintendo store.
The value of the game with the pokébola plus will be 100 dollars whereas only the game will leave by 60.
