A protozoan Toxoplasma gondii was located in the water box of a residence in the center of Santa Maria. The announcement was made this Friday at a conference in the city with the participation of the Federal Public Ministry. Municipal secretary of health, Liliane Mello, reported that the protozoan's DNA is different from that present in the materials badyzed in confirmed cases of the outbreak.

The prize was awarded by the State University of Londrina, Paraná. Corsan reiterated the quality of the water treatment. The last bulletin reported 594 cases of the disease.
