Marco Antônio Jr. | A SP TARDE
The B0 platform, which is the basis of many products sold in the country since 2007, when Logan arrived here, resulted in 3 other products: Sandero, Duster and more recently Captur. In the case of the SUV in bold, our version does not use the European B platform, which is also applied to Twingo and Clio. This does not mean, however, that Brazil will receive more modern models compared to Europe.
Since we already have Kwid, which uses the CMF-A platform, designed by the Indian division of the brand, this may be a new path for emerging countries.
Even though we have no update of the Duster project, we will soon have a new version of the SUV, as well as Logan and Sandero, but the platform will be the same as B0. This will give at least two more years before some of these vehicles are overtaken, if that happens. Nor is there any forecast for the Brazilian market to receive upgrades in terms of engines as it has just nationalized the SCE family of three and four cylinders.
Round of the Game
Renault had more presence on the market in Brazil. Even since 1992, imported models such as the Renault Twingo, 19, 21 and Clio itself have not stood out. The first sign of change came with Scenic after 1997. Ten years later, the Logan, which had been launched in Eastern Europe after decades of successful Dacia 1300, was derived from the Renault 12, our Ford Load.
had the average car internal space, 1.0 energy engine and changed the brand view in the country. Despite the simplicity of the finish, its robustness has made it a success, reinforced by Sandero, with the same virtues. In the sum of the two, more than 600,000 units have been sold since 2007
