The launch of the Rota 2030 automotive program is expected to take place this week, said Wednesday the Minister of Industry, Trade and Services, Marcos Jorge de Lima.

The program negotiated for months within the federal government offers limited tax incentives to automotive companies that invest in research and development in Brazil.

According to the Minister, the missing details in the text have already been agreed between the Ministry and the Ministry of Finance, and there is only one "final opinion" from the Attorney General of the National Treasury (PGFN).

This opinion is to be sent Wednesday to the Civil House, said Lima.

"In the next two days, we will probably have the announcement of the 2030 road," said the minister after attending a technology support event for businesses in São Paulo.

The expectation that the announcement will be made later this week is reinforced by the deadline for government program launches due to the election period.

Initially, Route 2030 would take effect in January, when the Self-Inovar scheme was in effect since 2013.

The objective was to cover several points of the automotive industry, such as the taxation, research and development, automotive safety and rules for hybrid and electric cars.

There were more than 100 meetings between the government, vehicle manufacturers and automakers, but the bill was not put into effect because of the stalemate between the departments Finance and Industry.
