A rumor published by the ComicBook indicates that a new game in the series Mortal Kombat is in production and is expected to be the subject of an official announcement soon.
The information comes from an employee of NetherRealm who also revealed that the next title would be Mortal Kombat XI and would be one of the 10 games unpublished announcements at the 2018 Game Awards. Mortal Kombat XI will have a story mode centered on three characters and even if some of them are present in the game, they will not be playable. Among them, Johnny Cage Sonya Kano Baraka and of Meaena . Mortal Kombat XI will have the implementation of a adventure mode where the player will be able to create and customize his character, and eventually 
his moves and his fighting style.
