Samsung Messages can send user photos via SMS without the consent of the United States

Several Samsung smartphone users in the United States complain in Reddit about a bug in business devices that ends up violating the privacy of many. This is a problem that affects the application Samsung Messages and it appeared after an update released by the company.

According to reports of some owners of Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and up to Note 8, the Samsung email application is send photos of the gallery to random contacts by text message. In some cases, all images in the device memory are transferred.

Yesterday at dawn, around 2:30 am, my phone sent all my photo gallery in text messages, but there was no trace of them in my email application . Why would that happen? – reported a user of Reddit

For the moment, Samsung still did not speak on the subject . For this reason, some Reddit users have recommended a way around potential problems. Simply limit the application access messages to the device store in the permissions settings.

Settings -> Applications -> Samsung Messages -> Permissions -> Storage.

By doing this, the user ends up preventing the application from unintentionally sending some of their private photos to other users. Up to here, we have no similar reports in Brazil . For this reason, it seems that the bug only affects US users.
