Samsung unveiled a new generation of SSDs for anyone who drives data in reading and writing. The company announced that the 970 EVO Plus family of devices is focused on the fifth generation of V-NAND technology.
Using the M.2 interface, which allows faster speeds when the PCIe port is used instead of the conventional SATA, Samsung promises The new range of SSDs can reach a reading speed of 3,500 MB / s and up to 3,300 MB / s.
The new range is an evolution of the 970 EVO family launched last year and, according to Samsung, speeds up to 57%, with greater efficiency of energy consumption. For comparison, the 970 EVO of last year was basically proposed. same maximum read speed of 3500 MB / s, but with a significantly lower write speed of only 2500 MB / s. The 970 Pro range, which would be a more advanced range for professional use, has the same read speed limits, but with a recording of 2700 MB / s.
The company intends to commercialize multiple storage options. The 970 Evo Plus Series starts with a 250GB model, which will cost $ 90. The intermediate model has 500 GB and is offered at a suggested price of 130 USD. The most advanced version, at 1 TB, costs 250 USD.
