Scientists detect a gene that can predict the return of breast cancer

The researchers found that one type of hormone treatment caused almost immediate changes in some genes that were activated in the presence of tumors in the body.

Scientists studied tumor samples under aromatase inhibitor.

Samples were taken from volunteers before the start of treatment, then during the first weeks and then after four months of treatment a type of hormonal treatment administered for a period of two years. The researchers found that this therapy resulted almost immediately in changes in tumor-activated genes .

Chemical markers were absent from tumors that developed resistance to treatment
