Appthority, focused on mobile security, recently released the results of a survey that identified sensitive data leaks in Android and iOS applications. According to the study, millions of GPS information, medical data and financial records are currently available for just about anyone.
The breakthrough came in applications that use the Firebase cloud storage platform to archive user data. The company was acquired by Google in 2014, which has significantly expanded the user base of the system – which includes several leading Android developers.
