Entries for the first edition of the 2019 Unified Selection System (Sisu) will open on Tuesday (22) and will continue until Friday (25). Candidates must register on the site http://sisu.mec.gov.br/.
According to the Ministry of National Education (MEC), during the first semester, 235,476 seats will be offered in 129 institutions across the country. This is the first time since the launch of Sisu that the number of vacancies is down.
To participate, it is necessary to have a score greater than zero when writing the National High School Examination (Enem) 2018. The result of Enem was published last Friday ( 18); see how to read the note.
Each candidate can register for up to two vacant positions, specifying the order of preference and the shift in which he intends to study. It is also necessary to define the modalities according to which the student enters a ample competition or related to the affirmative actions (with racial or social criteria).

Modification of the waiting list
This year, one of the novelties concerns the list of waiting.
Source: MEC (data refer only to the first half of each year). By 2018, the candidate for a position in higher education could choose two course options and waive the second option to appear on the first waiting list. This year the rule has changed.
There will now be a regular call and the selected student in one of the course options for this call will not be able to be added to the waiting list. If it is not selected, you can only appear on the waiting list for one of your course options.
According to the MEC, modification of the waiting list consists of allowing "greater freedom of choice to unselected students in the regular call of Sisu selective processes".
It is anticipated that wait times for waiting lists will be reduced and that all students will be registered before the term. Depending on the portfolio, the changes could help reduce the lack of activity of vacancies.
