The Zoonoses Control Center of the Municipal Department of Health held another joint effort on Friday against the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The 60 endemic agents involved in the fight against the transmission of diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and Zica visited 1,403 properties in Açu, Barcelos, Grussaí (districts of Figueira and Lagoinha), Atafona (Korea district) and municipality (Chatuba district).
The agents, during the mutilation, guide the population for the precautions to be taken to avoid the infestation of the mosquito. In actions, tires and other objects that usually accumulate water are collected and the eyes are treated with larvicide during mutilation. The work will be completed until February 22, always on Friday. The next mutilation will take place on the 15th, in Atafona and Grussaí, and on the 22nd, at the headquarters of the municipality and in the district of Telê Santana, in Grussaí.
"This week, we have been making joint efforts in these localities, with a focus on residences with fixed residents., In order to extend the monitoring service against Aedes aegypti in these properties, as it s summer, we must always be aware of the materials that can accumulate water because the cycle of the mosquito is faster and faster, so we also intensify our activities with joint efforts and others measures more globally, "said the director of the Nucleus of Zoonoses Control, Marcos Machado.
