The Brazilian city with the largest number of people living in risk areas is Salvador, Bahia. In the state of São Paulo, IBGE technicians badyzed 89 municipalities and identified 4,559 risk areas.

"We propose that the survey be done every two years because these areas are very dynamic, the communities are growing rapidly and we are losing the data at the same time, it needs to be updated," he explains.
