With the uncontrolled development of tourism, disorder brings to paradise – showing that chaos is not an isolated problem on the beaches of Rio. The municipality of 30,000 inhabitants sees its population multiplied by ten during a sunny weekend. Parking becomes crooked. There are even traffic jams in the sea and people in the sand.
On the last Saturday before the summer, the marina where the water hikes start, in Praia dos Anjos, was taken. In Prainha, there was no place for so much umbrella. The transport to Prainha do Pontal has become a dispute that puts the city in a state of war.
