The fourth victim had a chronic illness and lived in the central region. The death occurred on June 7, before the Ministry of Health released doses of vaccine for two new priority groups: 50 and 59 years and children 5 to 9 years. As a result, he was not vaccinated, according to the city council.

The death of the man was already part of the 27 cases under investigation, published last week by the epidemiological surveillance of the city.

In May and June, epidemiological surveillance of the city confirmed the first two H1N1 deaths of the year. A 4-year-old boy was the first victim. He lived in the district of New Venice and died on April 27.

The second death was of a 31-year-old man who contracted the disease in another city, the first case imported, therefore. He died on May 5th. Officers conducted a survey of people close to the victim and family members, but no other person had the symptoms of the disease.
