Adults diagnosed with recurrent multiple sclerosis may use 40 mg (glutathione acetate) glutamine medication via the Unified Health System (UAS). Currently, the public network only offers the 20 mg version. According to the Ministry of Health, the incorporation will allow the patient to reduce from seven to three doses injected each week, thus ensuring a better quality of life.
Multiple sclerosis can be clbadified according to clinical course. Recurring recurrent cases are characterized by self-limited epidemics of neurological dysfunction with total or partial recovery. According to the record, approximately 85% of patients with the disease are initially diagnosed as recurrent cases. The other levels are also progressive and mainly progressive.
The disease usually affects adults aged 18 to 55 years. In addition, it is two to three times more common among women. However, children and the elderly may also be affected
Worldwide, it is estimated that 33,000 out of 33 people suffer from the disease. In Brazil, the ministry estimates that about 35,000 people have multiple sclerosis and about 15,000 are currently treated at SUS.
The main symptoms are fatigue, tingling or burning of the limbs, blurred vision, double or loss of vision, dizziness, muscle stiffness and cognitive problems.
