A couple was shot dead Friday night on Ayrton Senna Avenue, in Jacarepaguá, in the western area of Rio. The two returned from a supermarket when they were closed by a car shortly after leaving the yellow line back near the Cedae treatment plant in the direction of Barra. A man got out of the car and fired at them 11 times. Two shots hit the 24-year-old woman and three others, the man. The suspect would be the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims, with whom the woman would have had a relationship for a year and four months. Both are hospitalized at the Municipal Hospital of Lourenço Jorge in Barra da Tijuca, in the western area of Rio.
According to one of the woman's relatives, the ex-boyfriend would not have settled for the end of the relationship. Six months ago, he reportedly sued and threatened the woman, her family, and recently the current boyfriend. The witness stated that the reason for ending the court would be the physical badaults she suffered from the ex.
– He threatened our family. They have already gone to the police to ask for a measure of protection, but nothing has been done. Even the son of his current boyfriend was bullied. One day, the ex was armed at her home and threatened the whole family – adds the witness, adding that the victim was shortly before the crime at the police station to complain about a phone call, full of threats , that I would have done for her the day before.
The same family member also said that the victim's parents told him about leaving Rio for safety.
The GLOBO had access to the file (# 0020162-57.2018.8.19.0203) that the victim asked for preventive measures against the ex, but had a negative response from the justice. Here is an excerpt from the document:
