In a statement, the administration argued that the measure was motivated by the accumulation of suspected cases of dengue in the city, like São Joaquim da Barra (SP), where three deaths are currently the subject of an investigation, suspected to be caused by the disease transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti .

In 2019, Ituverava has already confirmed 29 cases, but is awaiting the evaluation of 266 others.

The mayor announced that the postponement of the courses applied from kindergarten to primary school and that as of this Saturday (2), there will be a cleaning effort in the daycares and municipal schools.
