One in four new cars sold in Brazil in 2018 was a sport utility vehicle. The category, which has been treated as a fashion in the country, is today the second most important on the local market, losing only by small hatches.

Of the 2.1 million cars sold in the past year, just over 500,000 were SUVs, or 24.4% of the total.
