On Friday (18), the National Development Bank (BNDES) published the list of the 50 companies that borrowed the most from the institution. The data cover the period from 2004 to 2018. The highlights are the presence of three telecom operators: Telefónica, TIM and Oi.
TIM is the sector company with the highest position, eighth, with R $ 12.141 billion. Telefónica comes in ninth place with a total funding of R $ 10.265 billion.
Although placed in a lower position, Oi – which is undergoing a judicial reorganization – has a greater sum than its competitors, because of the time. Whereas Mobile Oi ranked 12th with R $ 9.828 billion of resources; Oi S.A. came in 43rd position with 4.301 billion R $.
Among the four major companies in the Brazilian telecommunications sector, América Móvil – the parent company of NET, Claro and Embratel – is the only company not to be included in the TOP 50 of the BNDES.
