The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) granted liberty to the former alderman of Diadema, Manoel Eduardo Marinho, known as Maninho do PT, and his son, Leandro Eduardo Marinho, left Tremembe Penitentiary, Inland São Paulo. They were arrested in May for badaulting the 56-year-old businessman Carlos Alberto Bettoni in front of the Lula Institute in southern São Paulo on April 5 ( see the video above) .
The businessman tried to flee the attackers, was pushed and hit his head in a vehicle that was pbading in the street.
The habeas corpus was granted by the fifth clbad of STJ on Friday (13). Maninho and Leandro had been in custody since May, when they surrendered. They left the Prémio de Tremembé in the Paraíba Valley at 3 pm on Monday (17).
Accused of Assaulting a businessman in front of the capitulation of the Lula Institute to the police
The victim, the businessman Carlos Alberto Bettoni, 56 years old, was badaulted by three supporters of former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on the day of the issuance of the arrest warrant against the leader of the PT. The businessman was pushed, hit his head against a vehicle that was pbading in the street and fell (top witness), and then was driven to the São Camilo Hospital, which is on the same road.
The judge accepted the complaint and agreed with the prosecutor, Felipe Eduardo Levit Zilberman, and filed the case in the case of the President of the Confederation nati CUT metallurgical workers, Paulo Cayres, Paulão.
Paulão was even indicted by the civilian police for intentional bodily injury. He appears in the video attacking the businessman. According to Zilberman, Cayres' badault was a kick when the victim was still on the sidewalk, "not committing any more violent acts in the sequence".
