In a statement, the Brazilian Association of Truck Drivers (Abcam) said Friday (7) that she was opposed to a new stop of the category, but that she would not oppose it if the base deliberates for a new movement. Abcam is one of the representative entities of truck drivers and has 600,000 drivers at its base. She was one of the government interlocutors in the May impbade .
In the note, the entity is "puzzled" by the decision of the Federal Supreme Court Minister, Luiz Fux, to suspend the imposition of a fine for non-compliance with the minimum road freight floor. He made this decision Thursday night (6), at the request of the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (NAC)
According to Abcam, the decision "disrupted the dialogue" according to which category belonged to the government. and that the leaders were stuck with the base, dissatisfied with the lack of inspection regarding the application of the price list. "We have received innumerable messages of dissatisfaction with the decision of the Minister of the STF, a fact that worried all the leaders in the category."
"We oppose a new general blockage, but we can not oppose the decision of the truck drivers we represent". said the note. "Unfortunately, Minister Luiz Fux made a decision without having first heard the driver of the truck, or at least the leaders of the category."
Abcam concludes by saying that, for the moment, it remains to wait for the decision of the STF on the constitutionality of the minimum freight rates policy. "So we can move to the next step with more security and clarity, no matter what it is."
