The average price of gasoline in pumps increases by almost 10% in the first half | Economy

The average price of gasoline in pumps rose by almost 10% in the first half, while that of diesel rose by 1.9%. According to data published Friday (29) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the average price of the liter of gasoline ended in June at R4,498. $ and that of diesel, in R $ 3,389.

The figure represents an average calculated by ANP, which checks prices in several municipalities. They can therefore vary according to the location.

The rise in the price of gasoline is well above the inflation forecast for 2018. The latest Focus newsletter published weekly by the central bank with the market forecasts presents an inflation estimated at 4 , 22% if we consider the index Consumer Price Index (IPCA).

During the week, the average value of gasoline decreased by 0.88%, while that of diesel decreased by 0.2%.

The transfer or not to the final consumer depends on the stations. The readjustment is part of the company's fare policy, which changes almost daily the amount charged to refineries, in order to track international prices.

The value of diesel in refineries is still frozen, according to an agreement to end the truckers' strike, which began at the end of May. The amount is expected to remain unchanged until the end of July. Since the freezing of diesel prices from the refinery, the average value of diesel pumps calculated by the ANP has already decreased by about 5%.

The ANP also discloses the average price of ethanol and gas cooker.

During the first six months of 2018, the value of ethanol for the end consumer decreased by 1%, averaging 2,881 reais per liter. Meanwhile, cooking gas dropped 1.29% to R $ 68,280.
