The 200 bikes released by Yellow – which operates in São Paulo – are now available, as well as Serttel's 100 bicycles, used in the city since the inauguration of the service. The company started to offer the rental of vehicles with 50 bicycles.
All recruitments are via mobile applications. In the new business, users can pay their credit card or rent in cash using pre-paid credits purchased from accredited merchants (listed in the app). Values range from $ 5 to $ 40.
For Serttel bikes, the only way to use them is to register a credit card. The company also operates the blue zone of the city.
The rent is R $ 1 per 15 minutes of use. For users whose parking ticket is active in the blue zone, the value will be $ 0.50 for the same period.
There is still a monthly subscription option for the service that costs $ 20 and does not limit the number of uses in the month – but each trip can take up to 30 minutes with a 15 minutes break between them.
According to the Urban Mobility Secretariat, 460 users were registered at the beginning of the service. In November that number had risen to 829.
Travel went from 840 in the first month to 2,154 in the second. Data were counted until November 28th.
According to Serttel, since October withdrawals have been made mainly in the central region during the week – in the extension of the Afonso Pena square and the XV street of November – and, at the weekend, the demand is stronger next to the parks.
The city follows a pattern that there are no stations to pick up and return vehicles and bicycles can be left anywhere – which is convenient for parking and in the coverage area .
Bikes are released by the application and feature an electronic locking system with GPS.
