The Court considers a request for increase of sentence of Sérgio Cabral, which could exceed 200 years | New Orleans hotels

The request was made by the Federal Public Prosecutor (MPF). In addition to Cabral, are former defendants in the processors and former first lady Adriana Ancelmo. In its application, the MPF wishes:

• to increase the penalties for pbadive bribery and money laundering
• any deviation from the deflected values ​​so as to lead to an increase in the regime
• for each of the money laundering crimes , not for the whole (19659003)

The day before, new sentence

During Operation Calicute, Cabral had been sentenced to 45 years and 2 months of imprisonment. With the other eight convictions, the sentence reaches almost 200 years.

The last sentence was pronounced Monday (3) – this time in an unfolding of the effectiveness of the operation. Cabral was sentenced to 14 years and 5 months in solitary confinement. The ex-wife and her brother, Susana Neves Cabral and Maurício Cabral, were also sentenced.

Of the nine convictions, only one was upheld by a court – but in Curitiba, after the conviction of the former judge Sergio Moro. This is perhaps the first confirmation of Cabral's conviction in a Rio court.

Cabral was denounced in 2016 by Operation Calicute, accused of corruption in the works of PAC Favelas, Metropolitan Arch and Maracanã.

The discrepancies, according to the survey, amount to only R $ 224 million for this work. For example, there was money laundering through the hiding of jewelry and luxury yacht.
