.The Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a traffic accident with another vehicle this afternoon, "said a spokesman for the palace in a statement. "The Duke is not injured.The accident occurred near Sandringham's residence."
Prince Philip was driving, Palace spokeswoman told British Press Press.
"He considered a doctor as a precautionary measure, and the doctor confirmed that he was not injured."
Norfolk County police said they were alerted shortly before 3 pm of a "collision involving two cars". Two people in one of the vehicles were slightly injured, he added.
Queen Elizabeth II and her husband spend most of the winter in their home in Norfolk.
The Duke of Edinburgh retired as a royal couple in August 2017, having participated in more than 22,000 public events since the coronation of his wife in 1952.
