The public prosecutor's office and the civil police of the State of São Paulo met Tuesday morning (29) two arrest warrants issued by the State Court of Minas Gerais against engineers having testified of the safety of dam 1 at the Feijão mine in Brumadinho (MG), which broke out last Friday.
On Monday evening (28), the Civil Defense of Minas Gerais reported that there were 65 dead and 279 missing after the tragedy caused by the rupture of Vale's mining dam, in the Belo conurbation Horizonte. This Tuesday, the fifth day of research begins.
The arrest of engineers in São Paulo was held in Moema District and Vila Mariana, in the southern area of the city. The arrest warrants were issued by the courts on Sunday.
Actions in São Paulo, part of an operation also under way in Minas Gerais, are coordinated by the promoters of the core of the capital of the Special Action Group against Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the deputy of São Paulo Paulo, and by the Department of Catches (Decade) of the São Paulo Civil Police.
The São Paulo Federal Police is also involved in the operation and is currently executing two search and seizure warrants in companies that provide services to Vale. The name of the company has not yet been disclosed.
The investigators determine whether the technical documents, drawn up by companies engaged by Vale and attesting to the safety of the dam that was broken, have been rigged.
The entire operation is coordinated by police officers, prosecutors and prosecutors from Minas Gerais. The task force is composed of the federal police, the federal public prosecutor and the civilian police.
